The G4 bi-pin globe is the foundation of low-voltage LED lighting in New Zealand homes, campervans, and commercial spaces. Dulora's G4 globe range is available in 12V and 24V AC/DC configurations, covering under-cabinet kitchen lighting, bathroom wet area zones compliant with AS/NZS 3000, campervan and off-grid solar systems, and architectural accent lighting where low voltage is specified.

CRI 90+ across the range, rendering colour accurately in the compact bi-pin form that G4 fittings require. Many models are rated for 12 to 24V AC/DC universal operation, making a single globe type suitable across both residential low-voltage and commercial 24V systems.

For the full 12V and 24V product ranges, see 12V Globes and 24V Globes. For driver selection, see LED Drivers.

G4 Globes: The Low-Voltage Bi-Pin for Wet Areas, Campervans, and Compact Installations

What is a G4 globe and where is it used?

A G4 globe is a compact LED with a bi-pin base where the two pins are spaced 4mm apart. It operates at low voltage (12V or 24V) rather than mains voltage, making it the standard choice for bathroom wet area zones under AS/NZS 3000, under-cabinet kitchen lighting, campervan and motorhome interiors, and architectural accent lighting.

The compact physical size fits into small recessed downlight housings and slim under-cabinet fittings that larger globe forms cannot serve. The low voltage makes it inherently safer for wet environments and confined installation spaces.

Which G4 voltage do I need: 12V or 24V?

12V is the standard for most residential applications: bathroom wet area fittings, under-cabinet kitchen lighting, and campervan systems running on 12V batteries. 24V is used in commercial low-voltage installations and larger systems where reduced cable current is preferred.

Dulora's 12 to 24V AC/DC universal models work across both voltages. Check individual product listings for voltage compatibility.

Do G4 globes need a driver?

If the G4 globe is being installed in a mains-powered fitting, yes: a driver or transformer is required to step 240V down to 12V or 24V. If the globe is going into a system already running at the correct voltage (campervan battery, solar bank), no driver is needed.

For new installations, a modern constant-voltage LED driver is recommended. See LED Drivers.
